Myrtle Cora Stuck was my grandmother. She is mentioned under the children of Genealogy 7, Henry Stuck, my great grandfather. Stucks served in the Revolutionary War, were massacred on the Pennsylvania frontier in 1781, fought in the War of 1812 at Chippewa and the Battle of Erie, and in Italy in WW II.

Charles Stuck's research shows he bacame engaged to Ursula in Stammheim, Wurtemberg, Germany April 23, 1749. Participated in R3 Naturalized event Sept 17, 1765 in Philadelphia, PA. Was a

Stonemason in early days in Germany and this country then was a farmer when the family moved to Middlecreek Township. Will probated in Sunbury, Northumberland Co, PA, May 5, 1798. Was a decon of Christ Church in Tulpehocker, PA.

Elsie Brown's research shows he was naturalized September 19 1765 in Philadelphia Supreme Court. At the time he lived in Tulpehocon. Circa 1746 Melchoir Stock eloped with a serving maid from Rentlingers and enlisted in Switzerland for service in Gorchum (Gorinchem) in Holland. His account - wife Anna Laudberter died in Holland circa 1748 after their marriage (25 Nov 1747) at Gorinchem, Netherlands so he deserted and returned to Neuffen, Germany.

Four of his sons served in the Revolutionary War.

It was thru the family of Michael Stock and Barbara Rith that the names Fisher and Shellenberger come into the family and these two have done research on the family lives.

STUCK. - At his home in Pittsfield,October 20,1883,George Stuck,in the 90th year of his age.

Mr.Stuck was born in the township of Ceilingsgrove,Northumberland

Co.,PA,July 20,1794,emigrating with his parents to Fayette,Seneca Co.,N.Y.,in

1804,that section being then a dense wilderness. In 1814 he volunteered in

his country's service and participated in the battles of Fort Erie and

Chippewa. At the close of the war he returned home,and was married

Nov.24,1816. Eight children,five sons and three daughters,were born to Mr.and

Mrs. Stuck, of whom all but the youngest daughter are yet living. He came to

Michigan in June,1836,and purchased the farm upon which he has since lived.

Beside his own children, his descendants number 49, 27 grandchildren and 22

great-grandchildren. By Act of Congress of March - ,1881,he was made a

pensioner. Mrs.Stuck departed this life September 21, 1876.

Benjamin Stuck entered the Army at Ft. Mead MD. He left the US from Camp Patrick Henry, Newport News and arrived at Naples, Italy. He in battle engaged in Gothic Line, Italy on Oct. 5, 1944 against Germany. He was wounded and was sent to England General Hospital. He returned to the United States on the Wisteria Hospital Ship on Nov. 29, 1944. Landed in Charleston, S.C. for rehabilitation. Medals received are the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Metal, Riflemans Combat Badge, Battle Star, European Ribbon, Expert Rifleman Medal.
