Greetings, Paul.
I'm back, though I don't have the time to devote to as appropriate an
analysis of this message as it calls for. I'll at least start:

> the use of the Internet, a communications system that now reaches

Uhm, now let's get this straight. The guys who are into mysticism,
into living the life of the the Baha'i spiritual principles of independent
investigation of truth, of the broad-minded acceptance of the divine origin
of all religions and the awareness that there are many imperfectly valid
understandings of spiritual truth, of inspired words, of divine teachings,
into the transcending of childish and partisan prejudices against other
groups whether religious, class, or any other, into the implementation of
the spiritual instruction by Baha'u'llah that this is the day for the bird
of humanity to fly with both male and female wings developed, those aware of,
conscious of and seeking to fulfill Baha'u'llah's injunction to avoid
unbalanced reliance either solely on the intuitive or only on the rational
aspect of understanding, who have so eloquently posted to these e-mail
lists their acceptance of Baha'u'llah's word that evil does not exist, that
only there is the light radiated by the Sun of Truth and reflected from all
the souls created in the image of the Lord -- these guys are waging a
campaign of internal opposition against the Baha'i Teachings?
And the guys who are into erecting enormous superstructures of texts,
extracted out of context, imposing their understanding of such texts on all,
using such superstructures to justify the non-adherence to such fundamental
Baha'i spirituality as outlined above, but promoting instead the perception
that there are divisions of humanity into light and dark, hostile and
friendly, male (alone capable of highest leadership) and female (incapable
of highest leadership) rulers to be obeyed without question whatsoever they
may rule and mature humans who are to obey anything at all they are asked
to obey, politically active (those mystics, etc. in the above paragraph) and
spiritually minded (including such rulers who conveniently wage deliberate
campaigns to discredit those in the above paragraph popular enough to be
perceived as possible successors of these rulers) -- just how would one
designate these guys in a system seeking some distance from Orwellian
vocabulary?
I think any unbiased observer would note that were there any effort
to ignore the spirituality of the Baha'i Revelation and introduce into
the religion socio-political focus, such effort is coming from those who
are opposing the following of the fundamental, universal and broad-minded
spiritual teachings of the religion, seeking to present the harvest of the
Glory of God as an exclusive club under the domination of directors quite
conscious of those (all females included) who "threaten" their continued
hold on power and use their office to communicate to the world what will
allow an antagonistic viewpoint to be promulgated, thereby reducing the
influence of these potential successors, to say nothing of the heart of
what was revealed by the Prophet.
     I must be off again.
Feel free to post this to Talisman or any other place this debate
is taking place.
May the light of truth be unmistakably unveiled to the eyes of all,
may the peace-inducing, harmonizing and spiritually resonant influence of
Baha'u'llah ever touch the hearts of all who have recognized him, may the
entire human species continually rise higher above the abyss of the idea
of us and them which has so stained the pages of its infantile hisory.
                                                        All the Best,
                                                           Michael
