Yes, he expressed alarm, but not at the presence of a "covenant
breaker":
At 12:30 PM 22/1/96 -0500, Steve Birkland wrote to Talisman:

I responded direct to Stephen Birkland, and sent repeated follow-ups
but didn't get a response from him for nine months. In the meantime,
Talisman One closed down, and Talisman Two started up.
I'll leave it to the readers to decide what Steve Birkland was trying
to say in his message to Talisman.
